December 19, 2025 – Group receives computational resources from the National Supercomputing Centre (NSCC), Singapore
Prof. Misra received computational resources from the National Supercomputing Centre (NSCC), Singapore, based on a successful proposal submitted as part of the Young Investigator Seed Project (YISP) programme. The group received both CPU as well as A100 and H100 GPU hours on the latest generation Aspire 2A and Aspire 2A+ supercomputers.
November 30 – December 5, 2025 – Prof. Misra organizes a symposium at the MRS Fall Meeting, Boston, USA
Prof. Misra co-organized a symposium titled, “Selective Separations in Nanomaterials” at the Materials Research Society (MRS) Fall Meeting in Boston, USA. The symposium was focused on the latest advances in understanding selective transport in nanomaterial-based pores, channels and membranes. Prof. Misra also delivered an oral presentation as an MRS Communications Early Career Distinguished Presenter.
November 28, 2025 – Group hosts three high school students for internship
Prof. Misra mentored three Singaporean high school students from the Nanyang Junior College (NYJC) during a short 4-week internship, where the students learned how to carry out molecular dynamics simulations of fluids, including visualizing the trajectories and carrying out simple analysis of the fluid properties. NYJC is one of the top JCs in Singapore, and we hope that this experience will encourage the students to pursue higher education and consider research as a future career option.
September 30, 2025 – Research update on three collaborative papers published on fluids at interfaces and under confinement
Prof. Misra has been involved in three computational papers published recently in ACS Nano, Journal of Physical Chemistry B, and ACS Applied Materials & Interfaces, which uncover various aspects of the molecular mechanisms underpinning interfacial phenomena of salt ions, ionic liquids, and water at graphitic and hexagonal boron nitride interfaces. These papers underscore the central role of electronic polarization effects arising from the electric fields exerted by polar molecules like water and charged species, including salt ions, on interfacial and confined fluid properties. These works also build upon Prof. Misra’s prior research at MIT on modelling water electric field-induced electronic polarization of graphene in molecular dynamics simulations.
September 17, 2025 – Misra Lab opens at NUS
Prof. Misra joined NUS as an Assistant Professor, supported by the Presidential Young Professorship scheme.
